Things to Strive For

Mmyeah, I have a LOT of flaws, and I think I can actually point out a lot of them. Now, we all know it's completely human and normal and natural to be flawed. However, that does not mean that it's okay to leave them be completely, esp. if you're like me and have bazillions of them. (LOL; Blogger spellcheck says "bazillion" is a word...Oh, wait, it is. :D)

SO, what I have decided to do is lay out what I would like myself to do and NOT be. By way of little rules and epigrams. They are likkle sayings I thought of/up/about regarding the things I do in life. Basically, I think that if I keep these various things in mind as I go about my life, I'll make myself better in my eyes.

The [growing] list of my likkle epigrams (bold) and their corresponding explanations/details are/include:

("Things I want for myself")

  • Don't be afraid to be wrong. Mistakes are how you learn.
  • "Feel free to prove me wrong." This is a statement I should have in my head all the time; to me, it means state the thought or opinion you have boldly and openly. Be ready for and open to a challenge to your correctness, and accept it if you are wrong. (See above "epigram")
  • Don't be shy....Just start talking
  • Don't dwell on the unchangeable past and the ever-changing future too long. What's happened has happened, and what will come is too vague to be sure of.
  • Ask myself: What about now? What's happening now?
  • Be productive. Spend every minute building or creating something. Or destroying something.
  • Ask questions. Curiosity is usually helpful; the search for knowledge leads to knowledge. Knowledge is power.
  • Be openminded. Anything is possible. Anything can happen. Don't let the past or present teachings or knowledge create a box for your thinking. Everything is possible.
  • "If it's not constructive criticism, take it as a compliment."
YESH. And it will probably grow as time goes on...
